Sanitarium began manufacturing peanut butter in Australia over 100 years ago. We continue the tradition today to offer a great taste and consistent quality spread that's rich in protein and provides sustaining energy. To ensure the best possible taste and aroma, we blend different peanut varieties.

The Sanitarium Peanut Butter range is made from both imported and local ingredients, including nuts from Nicaragua. We are currently using imported nuts in Australia due to Australian nuts being badly effected by the drought, and the co-operative that controls the majority of peanuts grown cannot guarantee supply. In fact, they are now importing nuts themselves for the Australian market.

Sanitarium Peanut Butter comes in three choices - Smooth, Crunchy, and Super Crunchy. Sanitarium Peanut Butter No Added Salt comes in Smooth and Crunchy. And now, Sanitarium Natural Peanut Butter comes in Smooth and Crunchy, and contains only 100% peanuts.
